Donkey

Original title: “Kenjac” It is 1995 – The summer when the war (in former Yugoslavia) operation Storm will take place. Boro, soon to be forty goes to his home village Drinovci, Herzegovina, with his wife Jasna and son Luke. He hasn’t been home for seven years. He wants to see his brother who managed to leave Sarajevo with his family. Boro constantly fights with Jasna, and he doesn’t speak at all to his father Paško, whom he blames for his mother’s death. In two weeks in August of 1995, Boro will solve the long dispute with his father, he will learn to be a better husband and a father, and in all this a considerable role will be played by a donkey. This beautiful film won 3 Golden Arenas (Croatian Oscar) for Best Cinematography, Best Score and Best Original Screenplay, screened at Film Festivals in Singapore, Bergamo, Sofia, Bradford, Seattle and Rotterdam.
