Avery, a lonely wannabe writer, gets her big break when she is hand-selected to assist her hero, a reclusive author, Caleb Conrad. Whisked away to Caleb’s remote estate, Avery is given her one and only task; participate in a controlled psychological experiment in fear – experiment that will serve as the basis for Caleb’s writing.
Avery’s stay soon turns dark – she becomes the real life subject of Caleb’s all-too-real horror novel.

“With echoes of The Shining and Misery, Braden Croft has created an intriguing plot and atmospheric tale that Stephen King himself would be proud of.” – Kat Hughes, The Hollywood News
“A pulse-pounding, eerie watch that keeps the viewer enthralled until the final frame…. The two leads are absolutely brilliant and are backed up by an intelligent script and intense, eerie direction. This is dramatic horror done right.” -Bobby LePire, Film Threat
“Pitched somewhere between Michael Powell’s Peeping Tom (1960) and Rob Reiner’s Stephen King adaptation Misery (1990), True Fiction is a tense and twisty near two-hander that carefully negotiates the convoluted connections between authorship and imposture in any work of make-believe.” – Anton Bitel, Sci-Fi Now, UK
